Homecoming Week

This is my oldest first year in middle school and taking in the fun of homecoming week.  Let's say he's really enjoying it.  With us living in a small town the middle and high school building is combined and they share a lot of the same festivities.

It has been SO long since I enjoyed homecoming week that I forgot that it was a week of fun.  It's been a lot of fun seeing Freddy get into dressing up for the day's theme and seeing his brother tease him accordingly.  Yesterday was nerd day.  He did pretty good picking out what he wanted; but we didn't have the right glasses to complete the outfit.
Today was toga day.  The breakfast table heard the "Toga Toga" chant.  Thankfully no food fight ensued.  I forgot to get a picture of his morning and I'm going to try and when he gets home.  The sheet he decided on was from a queen size bed so he had to be wrapped a few times to make it work.  I tried to get him to use a blue sheet with jets on it; but he rolled his eyes at me on that one.

Tomorrow is little kids day, which should be interesting.  The school site does mention that it does not mean they can wear pajamas and I just know he'll want to wear his sponge bob ones...so we'll see what he decides now.

Thursday will be "status" day.  The person is to wear Red if they're taken, Yellow if it's complicated and Green if they're single.  This mom is thankful that her son has stressed that he'll be wearing green.  Whew!  Don't have to worry about that one for a bit.

Last is Friday which is spirit day.  As we have a TON of orange and black (school colors) within the boys closet we should be good there.  I think I may have some tattoos too that they can put on their face.

I think we forget how much fun this time is and how excited the kids get into the spirit of it.  I'm glad I'm being reminded of it this week.
